My 2G iphone died on me. To the extent that I wasn’t able to breathe life back into it no matter how much I tried. I was part that it got relocked, and I wasn’t able to unlock it. That and the battery life which I would have to say was pretty darn good was finally taking a nose dive. You know you  need a new battery when you can’t make a day without a recharge.

I decided to bite the bullet and get a new one legitimately, which is to say actually get a contract from Rogers and a phone. I didn’t go all out and get the 16gb one. Having never used more then 6gigs on my previous one I felt that I was silly to pay for more then just the 8gb model. I guess if you watched a lot of movies it would make sense, or really had a huge library of songs. Since I mostly listen to podcasts and only have a few albums on it at a time it was never hurting for space. That being said I’m enjoying the new experience of being able to access my email anywhere (I didn’t have data plan before) as well as plucking apps out of iTunes. I have noticed that the battery depletes alarmingly fast when you’re doing something other then say standby/making call/checking voicemail/checking mail. Accessing an app, playing music or having it do anything else and well you can almost see the bar depleting. I’m am happy with it so far and hope it’ll be my sidekick for a good time to come.
