Something kind of bang on about this. Though in this instance I’m fairly sure the management is directing this against taggers who I wouldn’t exactly lump in with artists.
I know of many artists that use graffitti as a medium and indeed those who use it as a form of communication in terms of speaking about social conditions and their lives certainly are aware that there is a certain destruction to their art. While it certainly could be seen as contemptuous at times it’s more that they are bringing to light issues that are only on the fringe of societal consciousness.
